As I have heard and seen from TV, Government pretty much ANYWHERE is in a rut at the moment. Australia keeps approving retarded Abuse, Car accident, Child care etc etc etc etc.... Crap, The Leaders in Iraq are having a problem Staying alive for the next Press conference, America has to deal with jack thompson (Contempt of court. HA!) And Asia... Well, Lets not go there eh? Yeah.
But Since I'm Australian, The crap I need to deal with is obviously IN australia so Ill be talking about that for the time being.
John howard, Our Large glasses wearing, Marathon walking, Generally Irritating mister baldy, Is yet AGAIN giving me a hard time taking him seriously. He went to Asia to pay his respects at a Bombing site. HE WENT IN A BLUE GOWN. Honestly, Your wearing Three and a half inch glasses already, No need to make yourself look any MORE of a dick head.
The twits that approve Ads trying to make people stay in the speed limit, Stop smoking, Send their kids to school, Pay more taxes, And generally needlessly screw with your mind, Are at it again. I get a SERIOUS bout of Schadenfreude when watching this bollocks. (German for 'pleasure at others expense') They ACTUALLY took a video clip from a song by green day for a Speeding ad (including the music!). Its BAD ENOUGH that their ads suck, But taking clips and music from bands that Possibly suck more? Isn't exactly a 'feather in the cap' as they (or my Father) Would assume. Then there are the various 'female rape/general abuse' ads. A picture of some Woman while she voices over some random Blarney, Then theres a boom sound a word answering a question or statement. for example: "I told him to stop, but he wouldn't!" 'THATS ABUSE.'.
ARE YOU SERIOUS? Oh, Im supposed to take A badly made power point presentation seriously? I start doing my OWN voice overs such as...
"Do these pants make me look fat?" 'YES. THEY DO.'
Or
"Ha Ha! the police will never know it was ME abusing HIM!" '-bitchslap-'
And thats another thing, Its ALWAYS the women that are the damsels in distress-donate-now etc... What about us? We have problems of our own dont we? Oh yeah, its the males that cause everything. My bad, Were always at fault. Please, Incriminate me further, I love it. :|
Kinda reminds me of the time they were blaming child abuse on us as well.
Its GREAT that we have shows like 'the chasers war on everything' That Make fun of these eople eh? ;)
finally to my main passion (Video games)... Guess what? They know pretty much.. nothing about it, And still blame their problems on it. Prostitution, Bullying, Murdering, RSI, Blackmail, Less people giving a damn about politics, Oh, And Less kids doing what their parents want.
WHY?
Video games dont cause this! Problems like this have been around for longer then video games, And they haven't significantly increased since people started getting in to video games.

'people blaming EVERYTHING on video gaming' No. Even though more people are complaining about this then GAMBLING.
No, its our attorneys, 'leaders' and what have you, Trying harder to ban Video games then trying to ban Smoking. Video games are a form of entertainment, They give people something to do when they're bored, A good time when they're in the dumps, A experience better then anything you will EVER get from HUNDREDS of other activities. Its still a free country, And no matter how much people hate it because of what People automatically assume they are about. Shooting, violence, Killing, Sex... Look, If there is ANY haters or people unsure about video games, Try one. pick up a controller and a good game and just play it. Don't go through it with a fine toothed comb looking for problems or incriminating references, Don't go through it looking specifically for Bits that Would dampen your experience. just pick up, Play and ENJOY it. Play A that gets you Involved with it so that You'll be sad when a character dies, Jump and show off when A boss is destroyed And relief as you JUST escaped that falling boulder. Just Enjoy it to the extent that you are HAPPY that you bought this game. There is SO MUCH good that you can find in video games, and people are starting to forget the most important aspect;
